Brief Algona Rotary Club History

  • 1971 the Club purchased a machine to make donuts. Later a small trailer was donated to house the donut machine.

  • 1971 the Club purchased a Showmobile. (A portable stage)

  • Annual flight breakfast

  • 2002 the Club added the ButterBraid to the annual breakfast

  • 2003 the Club sponsored the alcohol free beverage booth at the Algona Founders Day celebration

  • Community benches at Bartlett Park

  • Rotary International polio program

  • Kossuth County Hospital and Foundation

  • AHS & BGHS after prom parties

  • AHS & BGHS Rotary Service Above Self Scholarships

  • Dr Don Kingfield volunteer Optometry work

  • Adopt Christmas families

  • O.B. Laing/Seton Science/Education Fairs

  • Algona Public Library Summer Reading Program

  • Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts

  • Outdoor track at Algona High School

  • Kossuth County Dare Program

  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes

  • Algona Family YMCA

  • Helped with sign for the Algona Airport

  • Helped with education causes
